Voting on television in the first round is Open and will determine the nominees for the 2021 AACTA Awards. Voting closes at 5:00 pm AEDT, Friday October 8, 2021.
The Australian Academy of Film and Television Arts (AACTA) officially opened voting in all TV Award categories. The first round of voting will determine the nominees for the 2021 AACTA Awards. This year, and for the first time in the TV categories, AACTA opened the vote to ALL Professional and General Members, with limited technical craft rewards. to accredited professional members only.
New in 2021, and in recognition of our world-renowned comedians and creators, we’re expanding the range of awards that celebrate Australia’s unique sense of humor, in all its screen forms. With some of the world’s most revered favorites and the most exciting emerging stand-ups coming from our shores, AACTA is very proud to launch the Best Standing Comedy Special reward this year. In addition to the introduction of the best short comedy, Best Narrative Comedy Series was also added this year, and the Best Comedy Actor the category extends to 8 nominees, encompassing all genres.
The first round of voting will determine the nominees for the following major televised awards:
- Best Children’s Program
- Best Comedy Actor
- Best comedy program
- Best Direction in a Drama or Comedy
- Best Direction in a Non-Fiction Television Series
- Best documentary or factual program
- Best Drama Series
- Best entertainment program
- Best factual entertainment program
- Best Lifestyle Program
- Best Leading Actress in a Drama
- Best Lead Actor in a Drama
- Best Mini-Series or TV Movie
- Best Narrative Comedy Series
- Best reality program
- Best TV Script
- Best standing special
- Best Supporting Actress in a Drama
- Best Supporting Actor in a Drama

AACTA members can view the entry field and access the guides via AACTA TV. Voting for the film awards will open on Friday, October 8.
